About the Aircraft

The F-14A Tomcat has been operated as the main carrier-based fighter by the U.S. Navy since 1973. The F-14A Tomcat adopted the automatically controllable variable-sweep wing to achieve both mobility or weapon loading capacity and takeoff/landing performance. In addition to the AWG-9 radar and AIM-54 Phoenix missile with an effective range of about 160 km, The F-14A Tomcat can simultaneously attack up to six aircraft. The F-14 kept upgrading and played an active part in the U.S. Navy's fleet air defense mission for 30 years.
 

About the Kit

This is a 1/48 scale unpainted plastic model assembly kit.
- Reproduce the U.S. Navy F-14A Tomcat with ITALERI made parts.
- Glue and paint are required.
- Contains One F-14A Tomcat kit, the instruction sheet, and decal sheets, and a special emblem sticker and masking sheet for canopy only for 1st. release.
- The variable-sweep wing is movable after completed.
- Including AIM-54 Phoenix, Sparrow, and Sidewinder missiles.
- Cartograf made silk-screen printing decals with fine color and high quality.
- Decals for Three schemes as below,
・VF-84 "Jolly Rogers" (1978)
・VF-1 "Wolfpack" (1973)
・VF-2 "Bounty Hunters" (1974)
- The finish is about 39mm in length.
